Greetings dear reader and thank you for looking me up!
Here’s a little bit about me and my journey towards being a published fiction writer…
Born in Suffolk, England, I went to school in Cambridge. I then studied at the University of Nottingham and graduated with Joint Honours in English and Fine Art. After working in airline marketing in London, I moved to Australia after meeting my first husband in an airport ticket queue!
Forty years later I am still here, having melded my English upbringing with the Aussie way of life and culture. I can honestly say that I love both countries and am proud to be a citizen of them both. And I’m very lucky to live on five beautiful acres of natural bushland in south-east Queensland.

My husband Geoff and I have a lively family of six adult children between us, and an emerging gaggle of grandchildren. I love spending time with family and friends, and my passions include writing, yoga, travel, art and music.

Reading time with granddaughters Ari and Ella.
I studied to enter the teaching profession when my three children were young and I eventually became a school principal. I graduated with my doctorate in 2008 which subsequently paved the way for a career in academia with a focus on educational leadership. During my university tenure, I researched and published widely in the field.
I have been writing creatively all my life, in journals, poetry and short stories. The Secrets of St Jude’s is my first full length novel. I was inspired to write it through the encouragement of colleagues in our creative writers’ group, based on my own experiences of being a teacher and principal. Now retired from schools and the academic world, it is wonderful to able to focus on imaginative writing. I am enjoying it a lot – and I do hope that you enjoy reading what I have conjured up!
